Happiness is a Warm Gun

The new iPad came out. And, consequently, the old iPad--aka iPad 2--is $400. I want one.
But...I can't really afford to throw down $433, after tax, for something I don't actually NEED right now.
BUT I WANT ONE.
This is the story of my life.
I would love to buy one, but with the transitions I am facing, I have no guarantee that I will manage on $300 for the next two weeks. What if something comes up? I know logically I shouldn't spend anything. Just let it sit in there and mold. That's what I should do, but I will tell you the temptation to spend it and give myself a happy little white iPad with free engraving and all is killing me. I've only wanted one for forever, and since I wouldn't get 3G or any accessory or a the NEW iPad, I would be compromising. But, I still can't justify it. It's just not right, people, to spend money you don't really have. Or, I have it, but not a lot of it. Ugh. How do people live like this? Budgeting themselves and saying no to the nice things everyone else--and I mean EVERYONE else--has? How do people do this? And why do I have to?!
Because I need to pay off a whole lot of debt and get back into school and become a better person and blah blah blah. I know that ultimately it is better for me to use my money for things less fun, like bills and debt and text books, but I still want one. I still want one, dammit!
Sigh. I can't have one.
Instead, I think I am going to put that $433 into savings and just leave it there! Stay, money. Stay there.
Good money.
That way I will see that it is better to save it than to spend it on a crummy old iPad. It isn't even the NEW one. 
Ugh.

In other news, I cleaned yesterday, but haven't exactly organized a whole lot. And, I think I have a lot of organization ahead of me before this move.
I also haven't signed the lease yet. She had an emergency on Friday and we were supposed to reschedule to yesterday, but I will tell you I didn't want to leave my house all yesterday, so it didn't happen then.
Hopefully Monday.
Other than that, nothing new. Except for the New iPad was released and apparently no one can get their hands on one. People, why are you waiting in line for an electronic device? Just use the money for something less fun and be happy.
I'm happy.
Right?

Wah Mee Massacre

On a chilly February night, five days after the start of the Chinese New Year, 1983, three young men walked into one of the most renowned, high-stakes gambling dens in the heart of Seattle's Chinatown International District and walked away with thousands of dollars of cash in their pockets and fourteen lives hanging in the balance in their wake.  The club was the Wah Mee, a sixty-year-old casino and bar that catered exclusively to Chinese clientele and hosted the highest-stakes illegal gambling in the Pacific Northwest.
